THE IMPORTANT STUFF! — A few years ago Wal-Mart started donating to communities at store grand opening events. The donation information on this page (click here) was taken from Wal-Mart's web site. The table also includes each Wal-Mart, Sam's Club and Wal-Mart Neighborhood Market in Arizona as well as crime information obtained from http://www.walmartcrimereport.com/ The table is still being updated!
In light of the proposed Wal-Mart Neighborhood Market in Glendale I wanted to demonstrate how Wal-Mart can "buy" a cities support. Glendale has 2 regular Wal-Marts, 1 Wal-Mart Neighborhood Market, 2 Wal-Mart Supercenters and one Sam's Club. AND Wal-Mart is trying to build more Neighborhood Markets in Glendale. Change Glendale's name to Wal-Mart City.
